The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has urged eligible residents to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the deadline announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The party’s Chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, made the appeal in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on New Media, Olawale Ijanusi, urging party members and supporters to intensify voter mobilisation across the state.
Babatunde described PVC collection as a necessary step towards exercising the right to vote and advised eligible residents to visit designated INEC offices and collection points in their local government areas and wards.
He disclosed that the APC was targeting one million votes for President Bola Tinubu and other party candidates, noting that achieving the goal would require sustained grassroots mobilisation and engagement with voters.
To achieve this target, the chairman called on ward executives, party leaders, women’s groups, youth organisations and other stakeholders to intensify the campaign across the state’s 18 local government areas.
He also referenced the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s Ease Agenda, stressing the importance of citizens’ participation in the democratic process.
Babatunde urged party members to extend the mobilisation beyond party structures by encouraging their relatives, neighbours and friends who were yet to collect their PVCs to do so before the deadline.
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to grassroots engagement and political participation, urging eligible residents to complete the collection process in good time to enable them to participate in future elections.
