The governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has lauded the effort of Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu in repositioning the state through infrastructure renewal projects.
Speaking as a guest of honour at the commissioning of the Ikeja Redline Overpass Bridge on Tuesday, AbdulRazaq commended the dexterity and vigour exhibited by Sanwo-Olu to change the socio-economic landscape of the state.
He said in the last 20 years, Lagos has been divinely blessed with quality and outstanding leaders.
He said: “It is another bold signatory project of the Lagos State government as this adds to the previous ones that the Lagos State government has built and commissioned. What we are seeing here today supports the fact that development is a process, not a destination.”

“Between 1999 and now we have seen consistent and impressive improvement in infrastructure development across all sectors in Lagos state, including those that support Mass transit systems. The Ikeja overpass and similar like this are bold testimony in this respect.
“But particular worthy of note is a huge advantage of policy consistency and that is what we are seeing Lagos today, Consistency and Progression in government.
“This is largely to the legacy of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Bola Tinubu, in other words, Lagos has been a beneficiary of a progressive vision built around people’s welfare.
“Regardless of party affiliation and individuals differences, developmental agenda should be people’s focus as it’s been done in Lagos State.”
He maintained that successive governments in Lagos have built on one another’s successes and exchange good projects that have strengthen the state.
AbdulRazaq added that most of the leaders in Nigeria have spent time in Lagos and have applied those successes witnessed in the state in other states of the federation.
He stressed that the Ikeja Redline Overpass Bridge had justified the time and resources spent in executing it.
