The re-election of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State for second term has been described as a great honour to the family of the late Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Folorunsho (AGF).

The late Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Folorunsho, father of the governor was the first lawyer in northern Nigeria and first Mutawali of Ilorin, a title now conferred on his eldest son, Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.

Speaking at a victory get together organised in honour of the governor at the family residence of the late AGF, Surulere, Ilorin, Dr. Alimi AbdulRazq said the governor recorded successes during the first tenure of his administration with monumental projects across the state.

The victory celebration was at the instance of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Moshood Alaka.

Alimi, who was absent at the occasion spoke through a close ally of the governor, Dr Gali Alaaya. He said Kwarans demonstrated the love they have for the late AGF’s family by voting massively for the governor.

He admonished the people of the state to continue to pray for the governor to meet their expectations.

Earlier in his speech, Alaka said the All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded landslide victory at the poll due to the immense achievements recorded by the governor in all sectors.

This, he said, prompted the electorate to participate in a “decision that set Kwara free from unsympathetic leaders.”

“The victory has come from all of us because we have consolidated our efforts and strength to return Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for another four four years in office.

“Our government will also build on this trust to give equitable opportunities to all Kwarans irrespective of our ideologies, family backgrounds, or political affiliation.

“This is what we want and have seen as Kwarans that’s giving our party the success we have recorded in this administration,” he added.

The event was attended by Deputy Governor of the state, Mr. Kayode Alabi, cabinet members and new members-elect of the state House of Assembly, APC Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi among others.
