Abiodun, Daniel laud Tinubu for converting TASUED to federal varsity

The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and the Senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel, have both commended the Federal Government for its decision to adopt the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, as a federal institution.

Daniel, during his tenure as the state governor between 2003 and May 2011, established the institution in 2005 as Nigeria’s first university of education.

Abiodun, in a statement on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, described the Federal Government’s decision as a transformative move that would positively impact the specialised institution.

He highlighted the state government’s sustained efforts to ensure TASUED’s sustainability and growth.

Similarly, Daniel, in a statement on Sunday, also lauded President Tinubu for his magnanimity, describing the Federal Government’s adoption of the university he founded 20 years ago as historic.

The senator said: “I wish to express my profound gratitude to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the historic adoption of the Tai Solarin University of Education as a federal university.

“This landmark decision represents a watershed moment for the people of Ogun East Senatorial District, who have long anticipated the establishment of a federally owned tertiary institution in our region.

“The federalisation of TASUED, Nigeria’s first specialised university of education established in 2005 under our administration, fulfils this aspiration while honouring our rich educational heritage”.
