Abiodun hails unity as APC conducts orderly ward congresses in Ogun

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State on Wednesday conducted peaceful ward congresses across all 20 local government areas, with members commended for their orderly conduct and commitment to internal democracy.

The exercise followed the endorsement of the party’s convention timetable by its National Working Committee and APC governors, outlining activities ahead of the national convention scheduled for next month.

Speaking after the congress in Ward 3, Iperu, Ikenne Local Government Area, Governor Dapo Abiodun praised the calm atmosphere that characterised the exercise statewide, describing it as a reflection of unity and maturity within the party.

He commended the outgoing ward executives for their leadership and contributions, noting that their efforts had strengthened the party at the grassroots level.

Abiodun also appealed for understanding among members who did not emerge as executives, assuring them that their welfare would remain a priority.

The governor reaffirmed confidence in the APC, describing it as the leading political party in Nigeria and across Africa, and urged members to remain loyal and united.

He further appreciated ward members for their support during the recent House of Representatives by-election and the e-registration exercise, encouraging continued backing for the party and his administration.

At the Ward 3 congress in Iperu, Alhaji Sanni Razaq was elected Chairman, Yinka Balogun emerged as Secretary, and Morouf Okugboye became Vice Chairman.

Similarly, at Ward 3 in Sango-Ota, Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele described the congress as peaceful and crucial to building strong grassroots leadership, adding that the successful exercise further positioned the APC for future electoral victories in Ogun State.
