Abubakar Kyari takes over as APC acting national chairman

…Omisore prevented from attending NWC meeting
Following the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abubakar Kyari, who had been serving as the Deputy National Chairman (North), has taken over the reins of the ruling party as the acting National Chairman.
WesternPost had reported that Adamu stepped down from his position on Sunday.
His resignation letter was submitted to Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, who also serves as the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum. Governor Uzodinma subsequently handed over the resignation letter to Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, who was at the time in Nairobi, Kenya.
Kyari accompanied by seven members of the National Working Committee (NWC) held a meeting in his office which he chaired.
Upon arriving at the APC national secretariat, Kyari parked his official vehicle in the spot designated for the National Chairman, signifying the transfer of authority.
Notably present during the occasion were prominent party members, including Deputy National Chairman (South) Emma Enukwu, National Vice Chairmen, Salihu Lukman (North-West), Salihu Mustapha (North-East), Muazu Bawa (North Central), Issacs Kekemeke (South-West), Ejoroma Arodiogu (South-East), and Deputy National Secretary Barr. Festus Fuanter.
Meanwhile National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore who is also expected to tender his resignation letter was barred from the NWC meeting.
At approximately 11:20 a.m., Omisore arrived at the secretariat to attend the meeting but was allegedly prevented from joining.
Prior to his arrival, his parking space had already been taken over by his Deputy, Fuanter, indicating a shift in the party’s leadership dynamics.
Omisore subsequently left the secretariat, stating his intention to meet with Adamu to inquire about his absence from the office.

Senator Abubakar Kyari, born on January 15, 1960, in Borno State, is the son of the late Brigadier Abba Kyari, who served as a military administrator in the North Central region from 1967 to 1975.
