Actress Bimpe Akintunde confirms marriage breakup in Instagram post

Renowned Nollywood actress Bimpe Akintunde, fondly called Wasila Coded, has announced her split from her husband, Yusuf Ganiu.

The actress, whose marriage trended in 2023, disclosed the development in a lengthy Instagram post on Friday. She captioned the post, “Honest announcement!!!”, explaining that the decision followed deep reflection, prayers and honest conversations with herself and her family.

She noted that having once shared her happiness with the public, she felt the need to also share her reality.

Recounting her experience, Akintunde said the marriage took a different turn after the arrival of her second child, adding that she went through lessons, tears, strength and growth despite the challenges.

Speaking on her personal development, she said the experience has not broken her but rebuilt her into a stronger, more hopeful and loving person. She also confirmed that she is now single and appreciated the public for their support, love and prayers.

The actress also announced her upcoming birthday, describing the new month as a season of reflection, gratitude and new beginnings.

Her announcement followed earlier speculations about a marital crisis after her husband, who is reportedly polygamous, made remarks about a home lacking peace and respect, advising people to be careful in choosing partners.

The speculation intensified after the couple unfollowed each other and deleted their photos from social media. The couple got married in a glamorous Islamic ceremony in June 2023, a union that attracted widespread attention.
