Gov. Sani urges Nigerians to defend democracy as presidency hails Kaduna projects

Governor Uba Sani has urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and defend the country’s democracy against destabilising forces, as the Presidential Media Team commended ongoing infrastructure projects in Kaduna State.
The team, led by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, toured several federal and state government projects and praised the scale of development under President Tinubu and the Kaduna State government.
Projects inspected included the 35-kilometre Gadan-Gayam–Gwaraji–Kujama road network, a Skills Acquisition Centre, and a 300-bed Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital.
Speaking at a state banquet, Onanuga said the transformation in Kaduna reflected improved funding to states.
“The scale and pace of infrastructural development across the state point to a deliberate and effective deployment of increased financial resources,” he said.
He added that the administration of Governor Sani had used available resources to address key infrastructure gaps.
“Some communities in Kaduna went without roads for two decades. Governor Uba Sani is now opening up the state and developing every part of it,” Onanuga said.
“When I return to Abuja, I will tell Mr President that the money his government has been giving to states is being put to work in Kaduna.”
In his remarks, Governor Sani cautioned Nigerians against what he described as “self-serving narratives” aimed at undermining democratic governance.
“Some of us lost our freedoms. We went to detention. We fought for this democracy,” he said.
“Nigeria’s democracy, though still evolving, must be protected through collective responsibility and commitment to constitutional governance.”
