Actress Bose Akinola addresses comparison with TAMPAN president
By Damilola Akinwale –
Nollywood actress and producer, Bose Akinola, who doubles as the Oyo State Governor/Chairperson of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), has addressed critics who compared her leadership with that of TAMPAN President, Bolaji Amusan, fondly known as Mr Latin.
In a lengthy Instagram post on Friday, captioned, “A MESSAGE TO THOSE COMPARING ME WITH MY PRESIDENT, MR. LATTIN,” Akinola urged the public to stop creating division among thespians through what she described as unnecessary comparisons.
She said her responsibilities were delegated under the leadership of Mr Latin, stressing that she served under his administration and respected the authority of his office.
“Leadership is not a competition, and there is no need to create rivalry where there should be respect and unity. We may have different responsibilities and approaches to leadership, but that does not mean we are enemies or that one person must be placed above the other,” she wrote.
Akinola said whatever she did in her capacity as a leader was carried out under the administration of the national president, adding that her role was to contribute to the growth and success of the association within its leadership structure.
“Therefore, comparing me with my president is unnecessary. My role is to contribute my own part to the growth and success of the association while working within the leadership structure,” she said.
The actress said the responsibility of leaders was to serve members, protect the unity of the association and contribute positively to its progress, urging members to focus on what unites them.
Akinola reaffirmed her loyalty to Mr Latin and commitment to performing her responsibilities with respect and humility, urging the public to choose peace, unity, respect and progress over comparison and division.
