Kehinde Bankole, star of Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, has revealed the conditions under which she would consider performing a nude scene.

In a recent podcast, Bankole discussed her stance on nudity in films, explaining that she believes it is not always necessary to include explicit content to tell a compelling story.

“As far as it is artistically required, and not just because it’s expected, I might consider it,” Bankole said.

“Sometimes, you don’t need nudity or excessive kissing to convey a powerful narrative. For instance, if a couple has been married for 10 years, you don’t need to start the scene by showing them in a sexual act.”

She continued, “I don’t like that question because the answer is often taken out of context. But to clarify, I can do what is artistically required.”

Bankole made her acting debut in the family drama Super Story: Everything It Takes as Caro. Since then, she has appeared in numerous Nollywood productions, including Adire, Sister, and Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti.

In 2024, Bankole won the Best Actress award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) for her role in Adire.
