Adamu backs Dikko to revive Nigerian sports

Former Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Dr. Amos Adamu, has expressed confidence in the leadership of NSC Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and his team, describing them as capable of transforming Nigeria’s sports sector.
Dr. Adamu, a prominent figure in Nigerian sports administration and a key player in the successful organization of the 2003 COJA All-Africa Games in Abuja, paid a courtesy visit to Dikko on Friday to extend his congratulations and share insights on the sector’s development.
In response, Dikko expressed gratitude for the visit, acknowledging Dr. Adamu’s immense contributions to Nigerian sports. He emphasized the importance of leveraging Adamu’s extensive experience to achieve the commission’s strategic goals.
“Dr. Adamu is a veteran administrator whose experience in sports development is invaluable. Nigerian sports can benefit greatly from his insights as we work to transform the sector,” Dikko said.
Dr. Adamu commended Dikko’s leadership skills and vision, noting that the new NSC leadership is well-positioned to revive the country’s sporting glory.
“The National Sports Commission under Mallam Shehu Dikko has the capacity to restore Nigeria’s sports sector to its rightful place. With his vast experience and commitment, the country is on the right track to achieving greatness in sports,” Adamu remarked.
Dikko reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to driving reforms, fostering collaboration, and leveraging institutional knowledge to advance the sector. “We will continue to take significant steps toward achieving our goals and revitalizing sports in Nigeria,” he added.
