Adekanmbi sets up APM campaign media committee ahead of Oyo gov poll

The Bimbo Adekanmbi Governorship Campaign Council of the Allied Peoples Movement has constituted its Media and Publicity Committee ahead of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.

The campaign council appointed Yinka Oladoyinbo, deputy editor of the Nigerian Tribune, as director of communication and spokesperson, while Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, special adviser on media to Governor Seyi Makinde, was named co-director and spokesperson.

Other members of the committee are Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa, Dapo Falade, Bosede Sodiq, Moses Alao and Fisayo Daramola, who were appointed deputy directors.

Oladoyinbo has 27 years of post-qualification experience in journalism. He has worked with Daily Trust and The Punch as a state correspondent in Lagos, Ondo and Kogi states and currently heads the politics desk of the Nigerian Tribune. He also recently served as secretary of the Ibadan South-West Local Government.

Similarly, Giwa-Onafuwa, a radio and television broadcaster, has more than 16 years of experience in Nigeria’s media industry and holds a master’s degree in communication and language arts from the University of Ibadan.

Giwa-Onafuwa has twice served as a general manager in the broadcast media sector. She is also a TEDx speaker, professional master of ceremonies and content creator, and serves on the boards of Educare Trust and Alliance Française Ibadan.

Meanwhile, Falade has more than 20 years of journalism experience and rose to become deputy editor of the Nigerian Tribune. He covered political and regional assignments as state correspondent in Ekiti and Rivers states before later serving as the lead Senate correspondent in Abuja. Falade founded Newscoven, a digital news platform, in May 2020.

The campaign council said the committee would be responsible for coordinating its media and publicity activities ahead of the 2027 election. It also indicated that the appointments took immediate effect.
