‎Adeleke hails 100% rating as Osun leads in fiscal transparency

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
‎
‎Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has described the newly released 2025 third-quarter Fiscal Transparency Report as a validation of his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public governance, dismissing what he termed baseless allegations by the opposition.
‎
‎In a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, and made available to journalists in Osogbo on Friday, the report released by BudgIT Nigeria ranked Osun among 11 states that scored a perfect 100 per cent in the 2025 third-quarter fiscal transparency assessment.
‎
‎Reacting to the development, Adeleke said the achievement represents the highest fiscal transparency performance recorded by Osun State in over a decade, describing it as a “fantastic New Year gift for the people of the state.”
‎
‎The governor said his administration operates a transparent, due-process-driven system across all sectors, noting that Osun distinguished itself nationally by emerging as one of only 11 states to attain a 100 per cent rating in the Q3 2025 Fiscal Transparency League Table.
‎
‎According to him, the rating further discredits the opposition and affirms that Osun State has been well managed over the past three years, as reflected in positive national and global assessments by observers, citizens and residents.
‎
‎Adeleke explained that the ranking assessed states on the availability, timeliness and completeness of key public finance documents, the functionality of e-procurement portals and the accessibility of fiscal data repositories, underscoring Osun’s commitment to open governance.
‎
‎The governor also highlighted other achievements of his administration, including Osun’s first-place ranking in primary healthcare access in the South West, improvement from 33rd to 7th position in national examination ratings, a reduction of over 40 per cent in state debt, and a 40 per cent drop in infrastructure deficit based on federal agency assessments.
