Adeleke links Oyetola, Oyebamiji to Osun crisis, alleges misuse of Tinubu’s name

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Monday accused the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, of using the name of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to perpetrate anti-people activities in the state.
Speaking during an unscheduled visit to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Adeleke alleged that the duo were behind the ongoing local government crisis in the state, claiming it was part of efforts to undermine his administration.
The governor, in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, told workers at the facility that the alleged actions of the opposition figures were aimed at stalling development in Osun, insisting that such efforts had failed.
He further alleged that Oyetola and Oyebamiji had been using the name of President Tinubu to carry out actions not authorised by the presidency, including the alleged diversion of state funds.
“They do jobs that the president never sent them. They seized and hijacked almost N300 billion belonging to Osun State in their bid to make us fail. But by the grace of God and the support of the people, we have survived and continuedqq to deliver good governance,” Adeleke said.
The governor subsequently announced the conversion of casual workers at the teaching hospital to permanent staff, particularly those who had been in that position for 12 years.
Reacting, the chairman of the hospital’s labour union, Olamide Faniran, commended Adeleke for his pro-worker policies and pledged the support of workers for his re-election bid.
“We appreciate your support and assistance to Osun workers. We have seen and felt your sacrifices to make life better for the people. We will reciprocate by massively voting for your re-election on August 15,” he said.
