Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called on individuals seeking specific data on government programmes to leverage the Freedom of Information Act for their inquiries.

The Governor specifically encouraged the opposition to collaborate with his administration to transform the state’s future positively.

In his New Year broadcast, Adeleke noted that his administration had inherited several national programmes from the previous All Progressives Congress (APC) government, promising to sustain those that benefit the people.

Reflecting on the last 12 months of governance, Adeleke highlighted numerous achievements in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.

He pledged to build on these successes, address outstanding challenges, and work with the people to develop sustainable solutions. He said:

“As we enter 2025, I acknowledge that there are issues and challenges to address. As we have done in the past, I look forward to working with the people of Osun to achieve sustainable solutions.

“In this new year, we will build on past successes to achieve new, deeply pro-people milestones. As I promised, this year will witness extensive implementation of soft infrastructure. The goal is to ensure that good roads are complemented by strong citizens and residents.

“In 2025, I will remain your responsive, listening, and compassionate governor. My only motivation will continue to be the well-being of you, the good people of Osun State.

“My good people of Osun, I have kept faith with my pledge for transparency and accountability as your state governor. Over the past year, we received and processed several requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act.

“We have ensured access to information as part of our commitment to transparency and accountability.

“In the last year, and since I assumed office, our projects have been financed mainly from state resources, including internally generated revenue and allocations from the federation account.

“Notably, I have neither accessed security votes nor borrowed a single kobo to run the state government,” he concluded.
