Former Minister of Works, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, and the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, have lauded President Tinubu’s policies, asserting that Nigerians are already experiencing the impact of his economic reforms .
While addressing the public on Wednesday, they dismissed claims that the Tinubu-led reforms were yet to yield results, insisting that tangible improvements were evident across the country.
They both gave their remarks in Akure during Adeyeye’s visit to the governor and the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade, ahead of the relaunch of the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju programme.
In his remarks, the former minister noted that increased allocations to states had improved their ability to meet obligations, adding, that before now, many states struggled to pay salaries and pensions, but today they have more resources to function.
Adeyeye further stressed that Nigeria was on the brink of collapse before Tinubu assumed office, hence why urgent reforms were necessary to stabilise the economy.
“If decisive steps were not taken, the country would have been in a far worse situation,” he stated.
He equally defended the removal of fuel subsidy, describing it as inevitable and reaffirming that nobody could have sustained it. He went on to shower praises on the president for showing courage by taking that decision.
Similarly, Aiyedatiwa, supported Adeyeye’s position, saying, “The economy was at the edge, but now it is taking a new direction even as the president’s leadership continues to attract wider support across the country.”
