Afropop star Simi celebrates birthday with gratitude, reflection

Afropop star Simisola Kosoko, fondly called Simi, has shared pictures of herself in celebration of her birthday, expressing gratitude and reflecting on the past year.
The singer took to her Instagram page to mark the milestone, captioning the post: “One thing about me, I will celebrate my birthday.”
She expressed gratitude for her blessings while reflecting on the events of the year.
“It’s been a pretty long, heavy, blessed year… Still, God don’t play about me. I’m so thankful,” she wrote.
Simi, who was recently in the spotlight over controversy surrounding a resurfaced post on Twitter, noted that despite her experiences during the year, she is surrounded by love from family and friends.
Reaffirming her faith, she stated, “Still, I am a child of God, and He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world.”
The Duduke crooner had earlier announced the birth of her second child with her husband, Adekunle Gold, on April 1, 2026, sharing maternity shoot pictures to celebrate the addition to their family.
