Agribusiness University set to kickstart academic activities in Ogun

A Private University specializing in Agribusiness and training agriprenuers across Ogun and beyond is set to kick-start academy activities in Yewa North Ogun State.

The University is proposed to kick-start activities by the first quarter of 2026 with plans to empower students and open a partnership avenue for them, thereby making it a win-win institution for academic excellence, job creation and agriprenuers empowerment.

Speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta at the meeting with stakeholders of the institution, Mr. Ogbiyele Olufemi who is the CMD of Providence financial institutions disclosed that the objective of the institution is to correct some notions about the private university, adding “which is why they are bringing students in developing agriculture and making them become agriprenuers”.

He posited that it was a revolution in both the education sector and the agriculture sector.

Olufemi added that the innovation brought on board isn’t a normal routine in the education sector declaring that the university is not in competition but to change the people’s perspective on agriprenures.

According to him “5th Avenue City is a dimensional project that has three elements, education agriculture, and real estate. Our objective is to correct some wrongs in the educational system, and we don’t want to go the normal routine of education systems in Nigeria that is why we are bringing in innovation to make sure that we have students for who we can create a pathway for to begin to practice agribusiness and become agriprenuer”.

“We want to make sure we raise entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector business, we are creating a revolution in both the education system and agriculture and to do this we need to integrate these people in a communal setting and that is why we are bringing estate them.

” The university is located on 300 acres of land. We are not in competition with any except for the private university that will come after the birth of our school, because we are coming with something new. We are confident that no institution is doing that. We are already looking at the future”
