Air Peace receives first Embraer E175 to strengthen regional operations

Nigerian carrier Air Peace has taken delivery of its first factory-new Embraer E175 aircraft, marking another significant milestone in its fleet modernisation programme aimed at enhancing domestic and regional air connectivity.
The delivery was announced on Tuesday by Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer, further strengthening its longstanding partnership with the airline, which already operates the Embraer E195-E2, E190-E1 and ERJ145 aircraft.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Dr. Allen Onyema, described the acquisition as a major boost to the airline’s growth strategy, noting that the E175 would enhance operational flexibility, expand market reach and reinforce the carrier’s commitment to providing safe, reliable and efficient air transport services across Nigeria and neighbouring countries.
The latest delivery follows Air Peace’s firm order in September 2023 for five factory-new Embraer E175 aircraft valued at approximately $288 million. The E175 shares cockpit commonality with the E195-E2, enabling reduced pilot training requirements, lower operating costs and more efficient fleet management.
Air Peace has sustained its investment in modern aircraft over the years. In 2021, the airline became Africa’s launch customer for the Embraer E195-E2 after taking delivery of the continent’s first aircraft of the type. It further expanded its Embraer fleet in 2025 with the addition of several Embraer 190 aircraft to strengthen regional operations.
According to the airline, the E175 will improve connectivity between smaller Nigerian cities and destinations across West and Central Africa, in line with its “No City Left Behind” initiative aimed at expanding access to air transportation.
The acquisition also represents another significant investment in Nigeria’s aviation industry, underscoring Air Peace’s commitment to fleet renewal at a time when many African carriers continue to rely on ageing aircraft.
With the addition of the E175, Air Peace is expected to further consolidate its position as one of Africa’s leading airlines while supporting the continued expansion of its domestic, regional and international route network.
