Aiyedatiwa celebrates elder statesman Fasoranti at 100

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has joined prominent Nigerians and members of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, in celebrating elder statesman, Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, on the occasion of his 100th birthday.
In a statement issued on Monday, Aiyedatiwa described the centenarian as an exemplary patriot whose life has been dedicated to service, justice and the advancement of society.
The governor, in the statement personally signed by him, said Fasoranti’s attainment of 100 years was a rare blessing and a reflection of a lifetime of integrity and disciplined leadership.
He further noted that the Afenifere leader played a major role in the struggle that led to the creation of Ondo State in 1976, alongside other progressive leaders of the time.
Aiyedatiwa said, “His sacrifices and contributions laid the foundation for the growth, identity and development that Ondo State enjoys today.”
The governor also praised Fasoranti for his contributions to democratic struggles, educational development and the preservation of Yoruba cultural values over the decades.
According to him, “Baba remains a symbol of courage, simplicity, resilience and selfless service whose life continues to inspire generations of leaders across the country.”
Aiyedatiwa prayed for continued good health, peace and strength for the elder statesman, expressing hope that his legacy would continue to guide the nation towards unity and prosperity.
