Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has praised President Bola Tinubu and security agencies for the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers abducted in Oyo State, describing the operation as a significant victory in the fight against criminality.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor expressed gratitude to God for the safe return of the victims and congratulated their families on the successful rescue after days of anxiety.

Aiyedatiwa commended President Tinubu for providing what he described as decisive leadership and the support required for security operatives to secure the release of the abducted pupils and teachers.

He also applauded the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, the Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, and local vigilante groups for their coordinated efforts and professionalism throughout the rescue operation.

According to the governor, the successful operation demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians while strengthening public confidence in the nation’s security architecture.

“The safe rescue of these pupils and their teachers is a victory for all of us and a testament to the commitment of the Federal Government to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians,” Aiyedatiwa said.

The governor further congratulated his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde, on the successful outcome of the rescue, noting that the development would bring relief and renewed hope to the affected families and residents of the state.

Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed Ondo State’s commitment to deepening collaboration with neighbouring states and federal security agencies to enhance regional security and prevent attacks on schools across the South-West. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of victims who may have suffered psychological trauma, assuring that Ondo State stands in solidarity with the government and people of Oyo State.
