Aiyedatiwa hosts Hausa leaders, pledges protection for all residents in Ondo

Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has assured that his administration will continue to prioritise the safety and security of every resident of the state, irrespective of ethnicity, religion, or cultural background.
The governor gave the assurance on Friday during a meeting with the Sarkin Hausa of Ondo State and leaders of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) at the Government House, Akure.
He commended members of the Hausa community for their contributions to the peace and stability of the state, urging them to promote unity, live harmoniously within their host communities, and shun actions that could undermine their reputation.
“Security is a collective responsibility,” Aiyedatiwa said, while reiterating his government’s resolve to provide adequate protection for all citizens across the state.
Also speaking, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Jamiu Ekungba, explained that the dialogue was convened to promote religious tolerance, deepen inter-community relations, and strengthen collaboration on security matters.
Responding on behalf of the community, the Secretary to the Sarkin Hausa in Ondo State, Mr. Abdulsalam Musa, called for the provision of improved social amenities such as health centres and requested formal recognition of Hausa traditional leaders in the state.
The meeting was attended by top government officials and community leaders, including the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti; Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Mr. Adetunji Adeleye; Hausa leaders from all 18 local government areas of Ondo State; and the Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Yayi Akorede.
