Aiyedatiwa inaugurates Aiyegunle–Iwaro Oka Road, reaffirms development agenda

Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has commissioned the Aiyegunle–Iwaro Oka Road in Oka-Akoko and a cluster of road projects in Owo Local Government Area, reaffirming that road construction and rehabilitation remain central to his administration’s development blueprint as it marks one year in office.
The governor described the inauguration as a major milestone in his first anniversary activities, stating that his administration had embarked on and completed projects that positively impacted residents and enhanced socio-economic development across the state.
He said the approximately six-kilometre Aiyegunle–Iwaro Oka Road was constructed with durable materials to withstand heavy traffic. According to him, the corridor is strategic to transportation in Akokoland and vital for the movement of agricultural produce within and beyond the state.

Aiyedatiwa noted that improving the road became imperative given the area’s rich agricultural potential, adding that the ongoing dualisation of the Akungba–Ikare Road forms part of broader infrastructural expansion in the axis.
In Owo, the governor commissioned Opomulero Road, Iselu Road and Isuada Road, as well as Falodun and Kajola roads, covering about 3.5 kilometres. He said the projects would enhance connectivity, stimulate commerce and reduce travel time within the town.
Reaffirming his commitment to inclusive governance, he assured residents that no community would be sidelined, stressing that his administration is guided by fairness, equity and shared prosperity under the OUR EASE policy thrust.
Through his deputy, Olayide Adelami, the governor also commissioned an upgraded Primary Health Care facility and newly built staff quarters in Owo, noting that 112 PHCs across the state are undergoing upgrades, with 51 already completed.
Traditional rulers, including the Olubaka of Oka, Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, and the Olowo of Owo, Ajibade Ogunoye, commended the governor for completing projects left unfinished by previous administrations and for improving road infrastructure and solar lighting in their domains.
