Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has expressed grief over the death of a former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Olasimi Akindele-Odunmbaku.

In a condolence message issued on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor described the deceased as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to the development of women and children in the state would be remembered.

Aiyedatiwa said Odunmbaku distinguished herself through her commitment to public service and her passion for improving the welfare of vulnerable groups during her time in office.

“She was a committed public servant, a passionate advocate for women and children, and a shining example of selfless service to Ondo State,” the governor said.

He noted that the late former commissioner played a significant role in advancing gender inclusion and championing policies aimed at protecting the rights of women and children across the state.

According to him, her efforts in community development and grassroots mobilisation left lasting impacts on the Ministry of Women Affairs and the state as a whole.

The governor also sympathised with the deceased’s family, friends, political associates and supporters, particularly her husband, Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku, popularly known as Baba Eto, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress.

He prayed that God would grant the family the strength to bear the loss and repose the soul of the deceased in eternal peace.
