History was made in Ajeromi-Ifelodun on Friday as residents gathered to benefit from the Federal Government’s Intervention Cash Transfer Programme, a direct support initiative under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Executive Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government, Hon. Olalekan Olu Akindipe, led the event and assured beneficiaries that the initiative represents a new era of governance in Nigeria. He said the programme stands as proof that the present administration is committed to practical measures that directly impact citizens at the grassroots.

“This is not politics as usual,” Akindipe declared. “This is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu proving, once again, that government can touch the lives of ordinary people. The Renewed Hope Agenda is no longer a slogan — it is what we are witnessing today in Ajegunle.”

He urged residents to view the programme as the foundation of greater benefits to come, emphasising that 2027 would be a decisive year for Nigerians to consolidate on the gains made so far by re-electing President Tinubu.

The Chairman also applauded the Member representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sabur Akanbi Oluwa, who recently unveiled his own cash intervention programme during the 10th Constituency Stakeholders’ Meeting. According to Akindipe, such collaboration between different levels of government is essential in deepening democracy and delivering value to the people.

As part of his local administration’s contribution, Akindipe announced a forthcoming 1,000-household intervention scheme targeted at vulnerable groups — 500 widows and 500 elderly persons above the age of 65. He described the initiative as “Renewed Hope at the grassroots”, aligning with President Tinubu’s broader vision of inclusive governance.

Beneficiaries of the cash transfer were charged to act as ambassadors of the Renewed Hope Agenda by spreading awareness of the government’s efforts in transforming lives.

The event concluded with songs of joy, prayers of gratitude, and renewed optimism among residents. For many in Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Friday’s gathering was not just about financial relief but a sign that under President Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria is charting a path toward true renewal.
