Ajiyan waterworks will produce 70,000 gallons per day- Commissioner

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos state, Gbenga Omotoso has said the Ajiyan waterworks in Iju when completed would produce 70,000 gallons of water per day.
Omotoso said the citizens would have clear understanding of the state government achievements in various sectors when the state holds the 2024 ministerial press briefing.
He gave the hint when he was answering questions from the press on the activities of the state government, at a pre- annual ministerial briefing held at the Ministry’s Conference room at Alausa, Secretariat.
Omotoso said the state government would kick start its 2024 ministerial press briefing on April 23 and end May 28, noting that the achievements of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration would be well explained.
He said “So many properties will go because of the Ajiyan waterworks, and the Lagos State Government has earmarked about 600 million naira for compensation. Also the Lekki Airport is ongoing and it is going to be a PPP. Investors are coming in next week to have a meeting with the State Government.You know that Airport is close to the Lekki Free Trade Zone which will open up that axis.”
Omotoso also said “The test run for the red line would commence next week, the Imota rice is currently in operation, Ounje Eko initiative is ongoing among other interventions to cushion the economic situation in order to bring succour to residents in the state.
“ Fifty percent of the food produced in Nigeria is consumed in Lagos. There is even flooding in the Middle East and climate change have affected the production of rice in Nigeria. The Lagos State Government is doing its best to cushion the challenges of foodstuff increase through the ounje Eko initiative”.
The Commissioner also restated the commitment of the administration to complete ongoing projects such as Ketu Ejirin Mental Health facility, Massey hospital, and road infrastructure in various areas.
He said the state government would perform the ground breaking of the fourth Mainland bridge, aying the first year anniversary of the second term in office would be done in a different manner.
