Akande, Omisore urge Osun political leaders to deliver 2m votes for Tinubu

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande, and the party’s former National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, have urged political leaders and stakeholders in Osun State to work towards delivering two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the January 16, 2027, presidential election.
They made the call at the inauguration of the President Bola Tinubu Campaign Committee in Osun State, where Akande commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for bringing political leaders together to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The former Osun State governor, who described Tinubu as a son of the Yoruba race, said the President was entitled to a second term in office, expressing hope that political stakeholders would work together to achieve the objective.
He said, “The pathfinder, Governor Adeleke, had brought us here today to start a course of noble consequences for the Yoruba race. I congratulate you for having the courage and the capacity to bring us to this hall to march towards the noble course of the Yoruba race”.
He, however, said Adeleke’s role in bringing the leaders together in Osun State had encouraged him to attend the inauguration, despite his age.
Similarly, Omisore called on Nigerians across political affiliations, including members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Accord and other parties, to vote for Tinubu in the presidential election.
He urged political stakeholders to work hard towards achieving the two-million-vote target, saying it was achievable, while commending Adeleke for his role in mobilising support for Tinubu’s re-election.
“We need everybody, irrespective of political affiliation, including ADC, Accord and others, to vote for President Bola Tinubu. We are not talking about governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly elections, but the re-election of our leader,” Omisore said.
