Alaafin of Oyo appreciates dignitaries at chieftaincy installations

The Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries who attended the installation of Barrister Seyi Tinubu as the Okanlomo of Yorubaland and Senator Abubakar Yari as the Baloyin of Yorubaland.

In a statement released on Monday by his Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaiye, it was noted that the ceremony witnessed an impressive turnout. Notable attendees included 65 aircraft landing at Ibadan International Airport, 25 helicopters in Oyo town, 145 members of the House of Representatives, 45 Senators, top government officials, captains of industry, senior politicians, and traditional rulers.

The Alaafin described the presence of these eminent personalities as a profound honour, adding that their participation infused the ceremony with grace, wisdom, and solidarity. He said their attendance made the event a truly unforgettable milestone in the history of the Oyo Kingdom.

Oba Owoade extended his deepest gratitude to all attendees, emphasising that their presence transformed a significant occasion into a historic and memorable event for the royal family and the entire kingdom.

“On behalf of my Royal Family and the people of Oyo Kingdom, I extend our deep appreciation for your support and solidarity. Your presence is a powerful testament to the enduring strength of our traditional institutions and the unity of our people,” the Alaafin said.

He further added, “Thank you for investing your precious time and sharing in our joy. Your presence has not only honoured us but also left us inspired and deeply appreciative. We pray for your continued good health, prosperity, and divine guidance. May God bless you all abundantly.”

In a separate statement, Oba Owoade also congratulated Senator Abubakar Yari on his appointment as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hereby Power, following the resignation of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola. The changes were officially approved at the company’s meeting on Monday and announced on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX).

The Alaafin described the new appointment as well-deserved, praising Senator Yari’s dedication, vision, and leadership. He noted that Yari’s expertise and strategic insights would contribute to the continued success and growth of the company, adding that the achievement is an inspiration to many.
