The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, has taken to social media to celebrate his 19th wedding anniversary with his wife, Ayaba Abiwumi Owoade, sparking a wave of affectionate messages—and playful speculation—among Nigerians about the possibility of more queens joining the royal household.
In a heartfelt message shared on his official social media page, the monarch praised his wife, describing her as a pillar of strength and peace throughout their marriage.
“19 years together, and without a doubt, I would choose you every single time. You are my strength, my peace, my forever. We’ve built an incredible kingdom of love, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world,” he wrote, tagging her handle @ayabaabiwumiowoade1.
The post was met with warm congratulations and light-hearted comments from followers. Some, referencing the historic polygamous tradition of the Oyo monarchy, teased the king about the possibility of taking more wives.
