Allow me confront bandits, Igboho tells FG

Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has appealed to the Federal Government and South West governors to approve his proposed security operation aimed at flushing out armed criminals from forests across Yorubaland.
He made the appeal on Tuesday while reacting to recent abductions of school pupils and violent attacks in parts of Oyo State.
Igboho said preparations had been completed for the launch of the “Iru Ekun Security Network,” a proposed initiative intended to clear forests of bandits, kidnappers and other armed groups allegedly operating in the region.
However, he insisted that the operation cannot begin without official approval from the Federal Government, South West governors, and relevant security agencies, including the police, DSS and the military.
He also urged traditional rulers in the region to support efforts to fast-track approval for the initiative.
Expressing sympathy with victims of the Oyo attacks in Oriire Local Government Area, he described the incidents as disturbing, especially the abduction of pupils and the killing of a teacher.
He warned that delays in decisive action against insecurity could worsen attacks on rural communities.
According to him, his team is ready to act but will only proceed under an officially sanctioned security framework in collaboration with government authorities.
