NLNG commends Olukoyede’s efforts in fight against financial crimes

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), Leye Falade, has commended the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, for what he described as significant achievements in the fight against corruption, economic sabotage and financial crimes in Nigeria.

Falade gave the commendation on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the top management team of NLNG to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.

He praised Olukoyede for his courage, commitment and resilience in tackling financial crimes, noting that the anti-corruption efforts of the commission were helping to create a safer environment for businesses to operate.

“I want to acknowledge the great strides that have been made in the fight against economic sabotage and financial crimes. I want to personally, on behalf of the company, appreciate your tenacity, courage and your commitment. We feel and understand you; we appreciate what you have to do in this duty,” Falade said.

The NLNG boss stated that the company had adopted ethical standards and internal governance processes aimed at ensuring transparency, fairness and compliance with regulations in its operations.

According to him, NLNG remained committed to maintaining high ethical standards that align with both local and international best practices, adding that the company was fully supportive of efforts to strengthen accountability in the country.

Responding, Olukoyede expressed appreciation for the visit and commended NLNG for its ethical standards and contributions to Nigeria’s economy, particularly in the oil and gas sector.

He said the EFCC was committed not only to enforcement but also to prevention, collaboration and public awareness, adding that the commission was ready to support organisations in strengthening internal controls against fraud and financial crimes.
