Amaewhule-led Rivers Assembly criticises Fubara’s 2025 budget presentation before Oko-Jumbo-led House

The Martin Amaewhule-led Rivers State House of Assembly has condemned the presentation of the 2025 Appropriations Bill by Governor Siminalayi Fubara to the three-member Assembly led by Victor Oko-Jumbo loyal to him.
This was the theme of Tuesday’s plenary during which the House Judicial Committee led by the deputy speaker, Dumle Maol, presented the Court of Appeal judgement which affirmed the legitimacy of the House as well as the Speakership of Martin Amaewhule.
The deputy speaker then criticised the governor for disobeying the judgement.
Two other lawmakers also expressed their very strong displeasure at the governor’s actions, with a member, Smart Adoki, suggesting the judgement be submitted to security agencies for action.
In his remarks, the Speaker lamented the penchant of the governor for flagrant disregard for law and order.
It would be recalled that Fubara presented the 2025 budget proposal of ₦1.1 trillion to the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led Assembly.
Fubara had described the 2025 Budget as a blueprint for consolidating the achievements of his administration in 2024 while charting a new course for sustainable development.
