Amotekun Corps announces screening dates for new recruits in Osun

The Osun Amotekun Corps has announced that its screening exercise for new recruits will commence on Monday, March 3, 2025, and run until Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

In a statement, the Public Relations Officer of the corps, Yusuf Idowu Abass, said the screening exercise will take place at the Amotekun Headquarters, Powerline Area, along Ikirun Road, Osogbo, Osun State.

The statement read:

*”As part of the Osun Amotekun Corps recruitment process, a mandatory physical fitness exercise has been scheduled for Friday, March 7, and Saturday, March 8, 2025. Selected applicants who successfully pass the first stage of screening will be required to participate in a 1km race to assess their physical fitness for the second stage of screening.

The required attire for the physical fitness exercise is white shorts, a white round-neck T-shirt, and white sneakers.”*

Applicants are required to bring the following documents and credentials to the Amotekun Headquarters:

  • Local Government Identification Certificate
  • National Identification Number (NIN)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Academic Certificates/Results
  • Relevant Credentials (e.g., Trade Test Certificates, Driver’s License, etc.)

According to the statement, applicants must undergo a medical fitness test at a government-owned hospital and provide the test results as part of the assessment.

It further stated that the screening exercise will be conducted as follows:

Day 1 – Monday, March 3, 2025, 7:00 AM
Osun East Senatorial District: Ilesa West LG, Ilesa East LG, Atakumosa East LG, Atakumosa West LG, Oriade LG, Obokun LG, Ife South LG, Ife East and Area Office, Ife Central LG, and Ife North LG.

Day 2 – Tuesday, March 4, 2025, 7:00 AM
Osun Central Senatorial District: Ifelodun LG, Boripe LG, Orolu LG, Irepodun LG, Osogbo LG, Olorunda LG, Boluwaduro LG, Ila LG, and Ifedayo LG.

Day 3 – Wednesday, March 5, 2025, 7:00 AM
Osun West Senatorial District: Isokan LG, Irewole LG, Ayedaade LG, Ayedire LG, Olaoluwa LG, Iwo LG, Ejigbo LG, Egbedore LG, Ede North LG, and Ede South LG.

It will be recalled that the Osun Amotekun Corps launched its recruitment exercise on January 25, 2025, inviting interested applicants to register on the Osun Amotekun website. The registration period lasted three weeks, after which completed application forms were submitted online and physically at the Osun Amotekun Headquarters for stamping and numbering.

The Corps Commander, Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, assured that the selection process would be merit-based and free of external interference.

He added that applicants would undergo results verification, a physical fitness exercise, and a medical checkup.
