The Anambra State Government has entered into a strategic partnership with Flutterwave to strengthen its digital economy and drive the growth of e-commerce across the state.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, describing the collaboration as a major step toward formalising and scaling the state’s digital marketplace.

He explained that the initiative is designed to create new economic opportunities for traders, artisans, and small-scale business owners by enhancing their access to digital platforms.

Soludo noted that the partnership would connect local businesses in key commercial centres such as Onitsha, Nnewi, and Awka to broader national and international markets.

“Flutterwave has shown that African technology can address local challenges at scale. This partnership will empower our people to transact and compete globally,” the governor said.

He added that the programme would prioritise the digitisation of payment systems for small businesses, while also integrating logistics solutions and onboarding more traders onto online marketplaces.

The governor further commended Flutterwave’s leadership under its Chief Executive Officer, Gbenga Agboola, noting the firm’s impact in advancing Africa’s fintech ecosystem through seamless cross-border payment solutions.

Soludo reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting innovation, urging youths and members of the diaspora to take advantage of emerging opportunities as Anambra positions itself as a leading hub for digital commerce in Nigeria.
