Anglican Bishop urges political elite to emulate late Pa Adebanjo

The Bishop of Ijebu Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Revd Peter Oludipe has urged the political class to emulate the late leader of the Yoruba’s sociocultural group, Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo who was always preaching justice, equity, integrity, good governance and selfless service while alive.
The Cleric called on Nigerian elite to live for the people, prioritise integrity and good governance as championed by Adebanjo.
Oludipe made the call in his short exhortation delivered at a wake for Adebanjo held at his country home in Isanya Ogbo, Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, on Friday.
The service had in attendance the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, his wife, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, former governor of the State and senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, former deputy governor of the state, Adegbenga Kaka, and former minister of Solid Minerals, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, among others.
Oludipe explained that death was not the end but the gateway to eternal life for those who have forsaken their sins and embrace the Lord Jesus Christ.
In her testimony, one of the children of the late Afenifere leader, Ayotunde Ayo-Adebanjo, described her father as an advocate of equality, and a forthright individual who wanted the best for the country.
Ayotunde described her father as a great family man, apostle of justice and equity and a foremost nationalist who wanted the very best for the country.
The People’s Warden of St Phillip Anglican Church, Isanya Ogbo, Chief Tosin Taiwo, described Adebanjo as a very irreplaceable father and courageous leader.
