APC aspirant Buba withdraws from Kaduna Reps race amid age controversy

Mahmud Sadis Buba, popularly known as Al-ajabin Zazzau, has withdrawn from the race for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) amid controversy surrounding his age.
Buba announced his withdrawal in a letter addressed to the Kaduna State chairman of the APC and shared on his verified Facebook page on Saturday.
He said the decision followed consultations with stakeholders and reconciliation efforts by party leaders aimed at promoting unity within the party ahead of the elections.
According to him, supporting a single candidate had become necessary for the success of the APC and the continued progress of the constituency and Kaduna State.
“I wish to reaffirm my absolute loyalty and dedication to the APC. My withdrawal is not a sign of weakness, but a sacrifice for the greater good of the party. I assure you that I remain a faithful party member and am committed to working tirelessly to ensure the victory of the party’s consensus candidate and the party at large at the polls,” he said.
The APC aspirant also thanked Governor Uba Sani and the Kaduna State leadership of the party for giving him the opportunity to participate in the nomination process.
He further appealed to his supporters to remain calm, united and fully support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate for the constituency.
Buba’s withdrawal followed controversy ahead of the party primaries after critics circulated what they claimed was the data page of his international passport online, alleging that he was 16 years old despite reports describing him as 30.
