Salawu withdraws from Somolu Reps race, backs APC unity

The immediate past Chairman of Somolu Local Government and House of Representatives aspirant, Abdul Hamed Salawu, popularly known as “Dullar,” has withdrawn from the House of Representatives race under the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirming his commitment to party unity and democratic stability in Somolu Federal Constituency of Lagos State.
Salawu’s withdrawal was announced in a statement issued by his Media Office on Saturday.
In the statement, he praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his progressive and disciplined leadership, noting that the President consistently places national interest above personal ambition and political considerations.
Salawu said he accepted the party’s decision peacefully and in good faith, without protest, while urging his supporters across Lagos State to remain calm and law-abiding.
He also expressed hope that others would demonstrate similar understanding and loyalty whenever his political structure benefits from the same party system in the future.
