APC cautions Accord against alleged false claims on Osun LG case

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned members of the Accord Party against allegedly spreading false information about proceedings at the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, on the lingering local government administration matter in the state.

The party said contrary to claims circulating on social media, no appeal was heard, dismissed or struck out during the proceedings held on Monday, September 28, 2026, adding that the consolidated appeals were only mentioned before the court.

In a statement signed by its director of media and information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, on Wednesday, the APC said the Court of Appeal subsequently adjourned the consolidated appeals to November 11, 2026, for hearing.

Olabisi said, “There’s no point for any person or a group of people to be twisting the content of a court proceeding to suit their political interest when such disinformation is capable of causing an avoidable crisis in the state. What happened in the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal on the 28th of September, 2026, was that all the appeals on the Osun State local government that have been consolidated were only mentioned.

“Throughout the court proceedings, no appeal was heard, no appeal was dismissed and no appeal was struck out, as it was being mischievously spread through publications and voice messages on social media”.

The APC urged the Osun State Police Command to collaborate with the judiciary to investigate, arrest and prosecute persons found responsible for disseminating what it described as false information about the court proceedings.

It appealed to its members, supporters and the general public to disregard the claims being circulated by Accord members and their agents, maintaining that the reinstated APC local government chairmen and councillors remained in charge of the councils across the state.

The APC added that, as a party committed to the rule of law, it would continue to pursue constitutional means in matters concerning the administration of local government councils in Osun State.
