The governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), under the umbrella of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to stabilizing the economy, strengthening national security, and laying the foundation for sustainable growth through the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In their communiqué, the governors applauded the ongoing federal efforts in food security, power sector reforms, transportation and infrastructure upgrades, social investment, and support for productive enterprises. They pledged to align state-level policies with these reforms to ensure that citizens across all wards and communities benefit from the administration’s initiatives.
The commendation followed the Forum’s two-day meeting held in Lagos State on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, 2025. The meeting was convened by the Forum’s Chairman, Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State, and hosted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.
The engagement provided an avenue to review the nation’s current trajectory, deepen coordination among the governors, and reaffirm the Forum’s unwavering support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

During the meeting, the governors assessed the security situation across the country and expressed appreciation for the improved coordination among federal, state, and local security structures. They also acknowledged the courage and sacrifices of security agencies and community volunteers.
“The Forum commended Mr. President for the ongoing re-engineering of the country’s security architecture,” part of the communiqué read. “Governors reiterated that the safety of lives and property remains a non-negotiable duty of government. The PGF resolved to continue strengthening community-based security initiatives, intelligence gathering, conflict-prevention mechanisms, and support for victims of violence and disaster.”
The Forum also emphasized the need to promote social cohesion, inter-faith harmony, and inter-ethnic understanding. It urged leaders at all levels to use their platforms to advance unity, moderation, and mutual respect while isolating criminality and discouraging hate speech in all forms.

The governors reaffirmed that effective local governance is central to delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots. They resolved to deepen reforms that enhance transparency, accountability, and service delivery in local government administration, in accordance with the Constitution and in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
“The PGF agreed to expand platforms for citizen engagement, including town hall meetings and consultations with traditional and religious leaders, civil society organizations, labour unions, professional bodies, youth groups, and women’s associations,” the communiqué added. “The Forum affirmed that listening to the people, clearly explaining government policies, and adjusting implementation strategies based on feedback are essential to building public trust and sustaining democratic legitimacy.”
On party development and unity, the Forum reiterated its unwavering loyalty to the APC and commended the party’s leadership for ongoing efforts to strengthen internal democracy, discipline, reconciliation, and inclusiveness.
