APC knocks Adeleke over allegations against Oyetola, Oyebamiji

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has faulted Governor Ademola Adeleke’s recent remarks accusing former governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, and the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), of using President Bola Tinubu’s name to perpetrate anti-people activities in the state.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the party’s director of media and information, Kola Olabisi, the APC described the governor’s comments as “reckless, uncharitable and lacking in tact,” insisting that both Oyetola and Oyebamiji were not responsible for the governor’s alleged political challenges.
He stated that Adeleke made unsubstantiated claims against the state APC leader and its governorship candidate in a bid to gain political advantage.
Olabisi also dismissed the allegation that Oyetola and Oyebamiji were behind the crisis in local government administration, maintaining that reinstated council chairmen and councillors were currently delivering democratic dividends at the grassroots.
According to him, residents of the state are benefiting from the activities of the Court of Appeal-reinstated APC local government chairmen and their councillors.
On Adeleke’s recent announcement regarding the conversion of casual workers at the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital to permanent staff, the party urged the affected workers to exercise caution, describing the move as a “political statement.”
The APC further rejected the allegation that it diverted N300 billion in local government funds, describing the claim as “baseless” and aimed at misleading the public, while affirming that its governorship candidate remains committed to restoring the state’s “lost glory” ahead of the August 15, 2026 election.
