APC leaders rally to endorse Hamzat’s governorship candidacy

Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State have endorsed the nomination form of the Deputy Governor and party governorship consensus candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, ahead of the party’s primaries for the 2027 governorship election.

The nomination form was signed by 120 bona fide leaders and members of the APC across the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state.

Those who signed the form on Wednesday and Thursday included members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), local government chairmen, former and serving public office holders, as well as state and local government party executives.

While endorsing Dr. Hamzat in line with APC guidelines ahead of the primaries, the leaders expressed confidence in his candidacy and pledged their full support.

Dr. Hamzat is the consensus candidate for the APC governorship primary scheduled to hold in Lagos next month. He has also received endorsements from President Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, members of the GAC, and other party leaders across the state.

His aspiration received further boost on Thursday as another APC governorship aspirant, Dr. Olajide Adeniran (Jandor), stepped down in his favour.

Former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode also congratulated the Deputy Governor on his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate.
