APC promises issue-driven campaign, predicts defeat for Adeleke in 2026 Osun election

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has pledged to run an issue-based campaign ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election, while expressing confidence that it will unseat the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke.
The party’s chairman of media and publicity for the Osun 2026 Governorship Campaign Council, Remi Omowaiye, made this known on Monday during a familiarisation visit to members of the print and broadcast correspondents at the NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel in Osogbo.
Omowaiye said the APC would avoid propaganda and instead engage voters with facts, figures, and clear policy alternatives, noting that the campaign would focus on the party’s plans for governance.
He expressed confidence in the competence and capacity of the party’s candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to unseat Adeleke, saying Oyebamiji’s proven track record would aid his emergence at the poll.
According to him, Oyebamiji’s programme would prioritise economic revitalisation through agriculture, improved power supply through the Electricity Act, and stronger collaboration with security agencies to tackle insecurity.
He added that the APC campaign would present practical solutions to the challenges facing the state, expressing confidence of victory in the forthcoming election.
Omowaiye also accused Adeleke’s government of mismanaging over one trillion naira accrued from various sources in the last 41 months, challenging the state government to give an account of how the funds were utilised.
Also speaking, the co-chair of the media committee, Mrs Funke Egbemode, stressed the need for governance to focus on critical sectors such as education.
