A leading aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency, Oluwafemi Fadairo, has expressed confidence of victory in the ongoing party primary, citing what he described as a peaceful and transparent exercise across wards.

Fadairo spoke with journalists on Saturday shortly after securing victory at Ward 8, Oke Aro, Akure, where he commended the orderly conduct of the election and the credibility of the process at his polling unit.

He said he was optimistic that the same level of transparency witnessed in his ward would be replicated across other polling units, adding that such consistency would strengthen his chances of emerging as the party’s candidate.

According to him, “I am highly optimistic about emerging victorious at the end of this election. What we are witnessing here is a free, fair and peaceful process. There is no violence or intimidation.”

Fadairo also dismissed reports suggesting that he had stepped down from the race, insisting that he remained fully in the contest and had not withdrawn for any aspirant.

He maintained that there was no basis for such rumours, adding that any withdrawal from an election, according to him, must be formally communicated and documented.

The aspirant, who said he purchased his nomination form for N10m, noted that his investment and grassroots support further reinforced his determination to remain in the race, while attributing his confidence to divine backing.

Similarly, the immediate past Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement (Central) to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa also praised party members in Ward 8 for what he called massive turnout and peaceful participation in the exercise. He said the support from his ward was a strong indication of acceptance among his people, stressing that their turnout reflected trust and confidence in his aspiration.
