Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will emerge victorious in the 2026 Osun governorship election.

Speaking at his 71st birthday celebration and prayer programme held at his country home in Iragbiji, Boripe Local Government Area of the state, Oyetola thanked God for the unity within the APC in Osun, urging members to sustain the cohesion ahead of the polls.

“I want to encourage us to continue in that spirit and ensure that peace and unity reign in the party, because that is how we can emerge victorious in 2026.”

Oyetola also charged party members to ensure that resources meant for grassroots mobilization are properly utilized, stressing that everyone must contribute their quota to the party’s success.

The minister warned youths against drug abuse and political thuggery, urging them to remain focused, dedicated, and God-fearing.

“Don’t be involved in thuggery. We didn’t engage in drug abuse before attaining this height. So, please stay away from drug abuse, because it only leads to mental health issues,” he cautioned.

Also speaking, the Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta, Alhaji Tunde Badmus, described Oyetola as a performer whose influence has touched every household in Osun State through appointments and inclusive leadership.

While commending President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its economic direction, Badmus urged the federal government to address workers’ salaries, noting that a labourer today earns as much as ₦10,000 daily — about ₦250,000 monthly — while many civil servants do not receive equivalent pay.
