Army clears ambush in Mangu, annihilate 3 bandits, recover weapons

Troops from the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army successfully neutralized three bandits during an intense firefight that ensued after an ambush in Mangu Local Government Area on Wednesday.
According to a statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the operation took place following a distress call received by the troops.
The successful clearance of the ambush, Nwachukwu said, was accompanied by the recovery of significant weaponry and other items.
The troops discovered and secured three AK-47 rifles, along with 14 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition. Additionally, a motorcycle, presumably used by the bandits, was seized during the operation.
Furthermore, a Constabulary Police identity card was found, indicating possible connections between the bandits and law enforcement.
He stated: “The Nigerian Army remains resolute in its commitment to maintaining peace and security across the nation. This operation is a testament to our soldiers’ dedication and professionalism in safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens.”
