Assailants kill 27-year-old woman at sister’s Ondo home

Assailants have reportedly killed a 27-year-old woman, Faith Olusesan, at her sister’s residence in the Funbi Fagun area of Ondo West Local Government Area, Ondo State, on Friday.

The incident occurred at the home of DSP Helen Adetowubo, a serving police officer, shortly after Olusesan returned from the market.

Sources said the assailants allegedly gained access to the premises and attacked Olusesan with dangerous weapons, inflicting fatal injuries.

A family member of the deceased revealed that Olusesan had previously received a warning via text message sent to a relative that her life was in danger. The attack, however, occurred before any help could arrive.

The source added that Olusesan had been planning to travel abroad in the coming weeks in search of better opportunities.

Preliminary police findings suggested that the assailants may have entered the house through a window leading to the living room, which was reportedly forced open.

Confirming the incident, police said the division was alerted around 2 p.m., and detectives were immediately deployed to the scene, where Olusesan’s body was recovered and taken to a morgue.

The police added that the case has been transferred to Akure for further investigation.
