Assailants murder commercial rider in Ondo, escape with motorcycle

A commercial motorcyclist has been killed by suspected assailants in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, has thrown the community into shock and heightened concerns over security in the area.

The victim’s body was discovered in a pool of blood around 5:30 a.m. along Zone A, Destiny Community, behind Sizzler, Ore.

Eyewitnesses alleged that the motorcyclist was assaulted by unidentified persons who subsequently fled with his motorcycle.

A resident, who spoke to our correspondent, described the development as disturbing, saying the community had been unsettled by the incident.

The attack has sparked renewed calls for tighter security surveillance in Ore and its environs to prevent similar occurrences.

A security source confirmed the killing, noting that investigations have commenced to track down the perpetrators.
