NPFL fixes dates, venues for Matchday Two as season heats up
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has released the schedule for Matchday Two of the 2025/2026 season, with dates, times, and venues confirmed for all fixtures.
In a circular dated August 27, 2025, and signed by the league’s Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, clubs were notified of the adjustments and urged to ensure smooth logistics for hitch-free games.
Action begins on Saturday, August 30, when Bendel Insurance host Shooting Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City. The clash, to be broadcast live on Propel Sports, is expected to draw huge attention as both sides chase early momentum.
The bulk of the matches will be played on Sunday, August 31. Kano Pillars will entertain Wikki Tourists in Kano, while Plateau United face Katsina United in Jos. Warri Wolves take on Rangers International in Ozoro, and Rivers United welcome Kwara United to Port Harcourt.
Also on the day, Ikorodu City will battle El-Kanemi Warriors in Lagos at 5:30 p.m., the only late kickoff of the round. Elsewhere, Bayelsa United face Barau FC in Yenagoa, Enyimba International host Niger Tornadoes in Aba, while Nasarawa United will square off against Abia Warriors in Lafia.
One key adjustment sees the fixture between Kun Khalifat FC and Remo Stars shifted to Monday, September 1, at the Enyimba Stadium, Aba. The game, which will be televised live, is billed as a stern test for newly promoted Kun Khalifat against the reigning champions.
With most teams seeking to bounce back from opening-day setbacks, Matchday Two promises exciting encounters and early-season drama across the league.
