Former Secretary-General of the Nigeria Football Federation, Bolaji Ojo-Oba, is among the 4,430 newly admitted students at the University of Ibadan for the 2025/2026 academic session after securing admission to study Law.
Ojo-Oba, a former Sports Commissioner in Oyo State, was formally admitted alongside other fresh students during the university’s matriculation ceremony held on Wednesday in Ibadan.
Speaking shortly after the ceremony, the septuagenarian disclosed that his decision to return to the classroom was driven by a long-held dream and passion to study law.
“I have always been interested in studying law, and now that I am no longer fully occupied, having retired from active service, I decided to pursue my dream,” the 71-year-old sports administrator said.
Ojo-Oba is a prominent figure in Nigeria’s sports sector. He previously served as a top official at the National Sports Commission and also held a leadership position within the Confederation of African Football.
