At IPAC summit, Uzodimma lists achievements in Imo, harps on credible elections

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma on Wednesday, used the opportunity of the Political Stakeholders’ Conference in Abuja to reel out the achievements of his government in Imo State.

The summit put together by the Inter Pary Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC) focused on how to consolidate democracy and emerging issues as the country moves into the election season.

Governor Uzodimma praised President Muhammadu Buhari for providing the atmosphere for free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria.

The governor said: “Today, I attended the 2022 edition of Political Stakeholders’ conference in Abuja, which was organized by the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC) with the theme: Political Parties, Elections and Consolidation of Democracy: Emerging Issues and Needed Interventions.

“The summit which is targeted at ensuring the conduct of free, fair and transparent elections also offered an avenue to pronounce notable achievements and records of the APC-led Federal Government and state governments, which commits to free fair and credible elections.

“It is important to note that President Muhammadu Buhari has demonstrated an uncommon commitment to the ideals of democracy since he came to power. At various times, the President has identified a credible election as one of the legacies he intends to bequeath to Nigerians. He has already demonstrated his commitment to this promise by endorsing the various reforms that would ensure the greater integrity and credibility of the 2023 elections.

“My paper presentation at the conference titled: ‘My Good Works are Speaking for me’ was chiefly conceived by the good intentions that I came to office with. This good intentions are manifesting in the unprecedented achievements that I have recorded so far as the governor of our dear Imo State.

“While we have transformed the state positively, there are still more to deliver. Therefore, it’s profitable that I market our dear state by reeling out the achievements of my administration in transforming the State for the good of the people and this exercise was fantastic especially as they are all people-oriented.

“I commended the management of IPAC for coming up with this refreshing initiative and for finding me worthy to speak on this all important topic. I want to personally give you my word that I will do all in my behest to ensure free, fair and credible elections in Imo State, come next year.

“As a democrat, I will also continue to demonstrate the exemplary tolerance of the opposition, within the limits of the law, so that Imo State will continue to be one of the leading political lights of the nation in political tolerance.”
